Isolation

I wrote this article earlier this month, precisely 4th of March after seeing a movie where a man stayed away from the world, at first unintentionally. It had both positive and negative impact to his mental health and relationships. But, I chose to focus on the positive while thinking about all of the good things that could happen when one stayed away for awhile from all possible distractions.
It had nothing to do with the current pandemic at the time of writing, but still, maybe you can link it up, learn and make the best of the moment.
Enjoy!

Isolation

Apart. Aside. Hidden. Separate. Away
In this realms of being alone, which we mostly dread. We bring forth that which is unknown, embracing it so dearly that it becomes real and a part of us. This, I think is the mystery of our gifts and being.

I imagine we have likened the word isolation, to being terrible, uncool, unpopular, unwanted, and rejected. In as much as some of these events may lead to the beginning of this process, it is also important to understand that  in being apart, aside, hidden, alone, separate, away – we find our true nature and the core of our essence.

In this rare moment, we choose to know ourselves, see the person we have become and would become; the true beauty that is in the eye of the beholder. This sacred moment brings to us deep revelation; mysteries we can only understand when away from distractions, which include the ever pacing of our minds and the voices in our heads.
Indeed, to become renewed, reborn and afresh, you have to embrace wholeheartedly this intentional path of aloneness.

I hope you see today and always that despite the beauty of being in the crowd and around the circle of love and laughter, it is even more magical to enjoy the scared spiritual moments of solitude in isolation – in being you and alone with you.
It is indeed a deep refreshing moment of love and selflessness.
Take a moment, think about this.

Love & Light,
TA

For My G.Ma - Felicia

I never knew I would miss her this much. People never understood why I love Christmas. I didn’t quite get it too – apart   from the bursting joy of the birth of Christ, the melodious songs and beautiful decorations; there was more to the super hyper and lovey-dovey feeling I always have this season. So, I was scrolling through my phone gallery and saw the last photo I had with my G.Ma. Oh by the way, Christmas was her birth and death day. I’m writing this because of her. Just to share a bit of her awesomeness with you. That woman was a bad-ass! Reminiscing on my childhood memories with her, I realized she was the reason I love Christmas. I usually spent my Christmas and New-Year holidays with her as a child. She would take me to her church and ask the priest to allow me join other children in the Christmas carol rehearsals and performances. She would take me to the salon and have my hair done and accessorized. I hated making my hair, it was just too stressf...

Killings in South Africa

I read and saw pathetic images of the killings of black foreigners by South Africans who are claiming or angry that these foreigners are taking up all available jobs and congesting available facilities and they also claim they are illegal immigrants. Read up the story captured by Al Jazeera below: 'Thousands of people have attended a march in South Africa's coastal city of Durban in solidarity with the country's foreign nationals.

Hello there!

Is it too late to say happy new year😥?! I mean, a quarter in the year 2021 is almost over, so I will let this mushy feeling slide, and let’s say I will pretend like I have been writing and written to you all these while.    Happy? Yes.    So, what have you been up to?  As for me, after the whole #EndSARS movement, I just literally had this block. In fact, I wrote a couple of things in my notebook but just couldn’t bring myself to sharing here.  I was beyond devastated, as many people – Nigerians were.    Anyways, before and since then, I was also doing a lot of thinking, studying, and preparing for a professional examination, which I wrote and passed in December, last year – yay!! Then, I have just been having ideas on a lot of things I would have loved to share with you but you know what they say about procrastination. Yea….got the best of this relationship!   I’m sorry.  Now, I hope to be more consistent – I know I have said that a mi...
