On the JOURNEY...

You see 👀...

Truth be told, I was thinking I could keep up with a daily post just after the last one you know....with the whole strength, vigor and stimulated "yes,I can!"spirit...Lmao!
Well...as soon as the week kick started with the new rise in dollar to the review of feedback from clients due to major or tiny flaws in my business process or people issue which, most times gets me furious and super worried! Especially the people issue...OMG!

I just DON'T GET IT ðŸ˜Œ!

I once listened to a business audio CD by (cant remember the name) that says YOU are totally responsible for the success and failure of your business. A business is supposed to FREE it's owners to LIVE!
I mean, someone is saying I shouldn't blame the people or the process or anything but my self and I should build a business to FREE myself. I mean, I love the idea of that and still in the process of taking all that in, because really blaming others would take you no where but closer to anger, frustration and then depression. But, how can I be truly FREE (yet) with the depressing gap in the thinking capacity of the 'gown' in the 'town' (gown and town...smh! some HR-ish term) Literally, I mean the thinking capacity of school leavers in the real world of work!

I'm thinking am I supposed to leave out blames completely on an almost paralysed educational system pushing out people who are mostly annoyingly disappointing (I don't know if anyone feels this way!)
It's ridiculous when a secondary school leaving holder with distinctions on PAPER is unable to spell CHICKEN or construct a simple sentence without the listener or reader taking a deep breath, trying to take the words apart in order to understand what is intended to be communicated. Isn't that super frustrating!

Now, how FRUSTRATING can that be?

It sounds like child's play until you see  a so called OND holder sitting in front of you, looking untidy (he excuses this for haven searched endlessly for the interview venue and you wonder what happened to him calling the phone number in the interview message sent to him! Or the excuse of putting on a sandal with his shirt tucked out of the trouser because he felt it was just an Intern role! And you ask basic questions and he goes round giving you ACCOUNTING terminologies from his text book which by the way was poorly constructed.
Haba!!!

GRADUATES🙉🙉🙉?!?
Those ones are the most disappointing of them all!

No offence to the really good ones oo.. by this I mean the ones who are willing to pay the price, be value adding and continuously desiring to improve their skills and competence.
But to the ones who are living daily in what I call "ENTITLEMENT SYNDROME" wehdone sah and mas!!!

Honestly...how did we get to this really breaking and depressing point? Most importantly I ask myself what will these "people" teach the younger ones entrusted in their care especially those placed in educational systems (schools) during NYSC?

A funny blend of these realities has been my 'ache' on my entrepreneurial journey. Above all, endeavour  as an entrepreneur to be value adding and let your light shine as you creatively solve problems affecting humanity.
Reflect and think deeply on your motives, this motive will determine whether you would be in business for a week, month, a year or centuries long after you are gone!

Don't forget to share your exciting and challenging moments with me here on Eden!
And...oh yes, Happy New Month!

For My G.Ma - Felicia

I never knew I would miss her this much. People never understood why I love Christmas. I didn’t quite get it too – apart   from the bursting joy of the birth of Christ, the melodious songs and beautiful decorations; there was more to the super hyper and lovey-dovey feeling I always have this season. So, I was scrolling through my phone gallery and saw the last photo I had with my G.Ma. Oh by the way, Christmas was her birth and death day. I’m writing this because of her. Just to share a bit of her awesomeness with you. That woman was a bad-ass! Reminiscing on my childhood memories with her, I realized she was the reason I love Christmas. I usually spent my Christmas and New-Year holidays with her as a child. She would take me to her church and ask the priest to allow me join other children in the Christmas carol rehearsals and performances. She would take me to the salon and have my hair done and accessorized. I hated making my hair, it was just too stressf...

LET GO.

Hey guys!  It's been a while and I've been doing quite a lot too. Within, the moments of my 'disappearance', I started a business and this took a lot of time and energy from me, I also followed my passion to work with a non-profit organisation focused on public education in Nigeria.  While all these sounds great, I also within these periods, struggled with anxiety and identity which led to depression - thank God for God! I have however, learnt that the road to fulfillment and self-actualization is indeed a journey -with self! So, over a couple of weeks, I have written a number of short articles as it crawls up on me and I hope that you find a word or two soothing for your soul.  I'll try my best to keep this coming every week and look forward to reading from you too. Enjoy!   Let Go It feels more like a disappointment than pain. Yet, it burns my heart and gets me really upset. I thought I had forgiven them. I thought I had moved on....

Father Of My Child(ren)

You are their hero. You are their light. I know you have been raised to teach them right. To raise boys who would be responsible, bold and kind. To raise girls who would be strong, bold and compassionate. To raise leaders who will impact their world, humans who will be afraid of nothing. You will pray with and for them. You will be the example they need. You will be the voice inside their hearts. You will teach them the ways of God and to love and trust him always. You will show them how to be human and good citizens. You will teach them the importance of hard work and diligence; the dignity in labour. They will make mistakes but you will teach them to be responsible enough to own up and move on. You may not be perfect; you are only human and will have your flaws. But they will love you in all your imperfections, in your flawed beauty. You will be so worthy of emulation that strangers would learn from you. Men would understand their vital roles as fathers to their chi...
