It's all about who?

When I was a child, my Dad would buy my sister and I encyclopedias whenever he travelled.  This particular year, he got my sister another encyclopedia and gave me a book! The book looked ordinary and too simple.
I took the book said a soft 'thank you' and eyed my sister's beautiful and colorful encyclopedia.
I went into my room that day sad as I dumped the book on my book shelf.

I think it laid there for about 2 weeks or there about until one afternoon, I was bored and felt like reading something. So, I picked this book my Dad had given me and flipped through the pages.
I read the first few pages and got stuck to the book. I took it everywhere, paused to highlight some quotes, sometimes I cried and other times I really laughed!
I often turned to the back of the book to see the soft smiling picture of the author...

That book changed something in me and really taught me the beginner's process to loving and trusting God for everything.
So, this evening I was going through my Facebook page  and found this beautiful words of the author and gifted man who blessed my life through the pages of a book...."Gifted Hands"

Below are the insightful and deep words of Dr. Ben Carson (retired world renowned neurosurgeon and Republican Presidential aspirant):

"Sometimes you are unsatisfied with your life, while many people in this world are dreaming of living your life.
A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of flying. But, a pilot on the plane sees the farmhouse and dreams of returning home. That's life!! Enjoy yours.
If wealth is the secret to happiness, then the rich should be dancing on the streets. But only poor kids do that.
If power ensures security, then officials should walk unguarded. But those who live simply, sleep soundly.
If beauty and fame bring ideal relationships, then celebrities should have the best marriages. But those who live simply, walk humbly and love genuinely!
All good will come back to you!!!
Man asks, “Where was God when Myles Munroe, wife and his associates were killed in a crash? He answers, "The same place I
sat when John the Baptist my servant was beheaded. When Stephen my servant was stoned to death. When Paul my servant was murdered in Rome. The same place I sat when my only Son was brutally crucified, wounded, bruised and killed. I
have not moved from my position."
I am the same. It is not the means of exit from earth that matters but the
destination. Live simply. It's all about God!!"
Thinking about changing a kid's life? Buy this book!

And yes! I went to my Dad after I finished the book and told him how much I really loved the book. I also told him it was the best book he ever bought for me. Guess what he did, he ensured I got every other book written by Dr. Ben Carson!
The funniest thing was, he told me he had never heard of the author and had just picked the book from the shelf for reasons he couldn't explain.
So tonight, I celebrate this humble and soft spoken man who loves God passionately and has taught me and millions of people to do so.

For My G.Ma - Felicia

I never knew I would miss her this much. People never understood why I love Christmas. I didn’t quite get it too – apart   from the bursting joy of the birth of Christ, the melodious songs and beautiful decorations; there was more to the super hyper and lovey-dovey feeling I always have this season. So, I was scrolling through my phone gallery and saw the last photo I had with my G.Ma. Oh by the way, Christmas was her birth and death day. I’m writing this because of her. Just to share a bit of her awesomeness with you. That woman was a bad-ass! Reminiscing on my childhood memories with her, I realized she was the reason I love Christmas. I usually spent my Christmas and New-Year holidays with her as a child. She would take me to her church and ask the priest to allow me join other children in the Christmas carol rehearsals and performances. She would take me to the salon and have my hair done and accessorized. I hated making my hair, it was just too stressf...

Hello there!

Is it too late to say happy new year😥?! I mean, a quarter in the year 2021 is almost over, so I will let this mushy feeling slide, and let’s say I will pretend like I have been writing and written to you all these while.    Happy? Yes.    So, what have you been up to?  As for me, after the whole #EndSARS movement, I just literally had this block. In fact, I wrote a couple of things in my notebook but just couldn’t bring myself to sharing here.  I was beyond devastated, as many people – Nigerians were.    Anyways, before and since then, I was also doing a lot of thinking, studying, and preparing for a professional examination, which I wrote and passed in December, last year – yay!! Then, I have just been having ideas on a lot of things I would have loved to share with you but you know what they say about procrastination. Yea….got the best of this relationship!   I’m sorry.  Now, I hope to be more consistent – I know I have said that a mi...
