The Day of The Girl Child - HERstory has just begun!

Populary called the 'weaker vessel' but I think it depends on the side of the table you are , as well as how far and deep your eyes can see!
Some call her the 'last creature' God made. They are right at this too! Atleast I love to think God took extra time and care to carve out beauty and grace and gently blew on her fragrance of glory and radiance.

Others say, "she is gotten out of man!" Somewhat correct too! But to think of it, she only got 2 ribs from man; so why exaggerate the story of creation!
From the oldest book ever however, I learnt she was wonderfully and fearfully made whole in the likeness of God. She is a complete being, conceived, formed and named by the creator and most superior potter HIMSELF!

Because you call her the 'weaker vessel', you think and say to yourself, "She is too weak to handle this! Too emotional to handle that! She is just a girl!"
Because you call her the 'last creature", you feel you are superior to her in strength and sometimes wisdom.

Haha hahaha! I laugh at you because you really don't know the strength of an ant until it crawls up your trouser and bites your loins!

To think you say "she is gotten out of man" so she should speak not! She should suck in the tears and struggle in silence as you ride and tear her...and let her soft deep moans mixed in misery and pain float in the air, carried by the wind and buried by her grave side accompanied only by Silence!

If only you knew how much strength she has within; so much strength to groan in pain as she births you. Great strength she gathered to nurture and care till her last breathe.
Strength even in silence  to accept or reject a thing at the blink of her eyes or the nod of her head to the wearer of the crown and carrier of the scepter!
She is the heart of a nation and by her womb greatness is birth. Yesterday was history, today is HERstory!  Respect her; she is not just girl. Nurture her; she is more than just a girl . Protect her; life can't be more  beautiful and safer without her. Celebrate her; she is a SHEroe!

On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare 11 October as the International Day of the Girl Child, to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.

For My G.Ma - Felicia

I never knew I would miss her this much. People never understood why I love Christmas. I didn’t quite get it too – apart   from the bursting joy of the birth of Christ, the melodious songs and beautiful decorations; there was more to the super hyper and lovey-dovey feeling I always have this season. So, I was scrolling through my phone gallery and saw the last photo I had with my G.Ma. Oh by the way, Christmas was her birth and death day. I’m writing this because of her. Just to share a bit of her awesomeness with you. That woman was a bad-ass! Reminiscing on my childhood memories with her, I realized she was the reason I love Christmas. I usually spent my Christmas and New-Year holidays with her as a child. She would take me to her church and ask the priest to allow me join other children in the Christmas carol rehearsals and performances. She would take me to the salon and have my hair done and accessorized. I hated making my hair, it was just too stressf...

Hello there!

Is it too late to say happy new year😥?! I mean, a quarter in the year 2021 is almost over, so I will let this mushy feeling slide, and let’s say I will pretend like I have been writing and written to you all these while.    Happy? Yes.    So, what have you been up to?  As for me, after the whole #EndSARS movement, I just literally had this block. In fact, I wrote a couple of things in my notebook but just couldn’t bring myself to sharing here.  I was beyond devastated, as many people – Nigerians were.    Anyways, before and since then, I was also doing a lot of thinking, studying, and preparing for a professional examination, which I wrote and passed in December, last year – yay!! Then, I have just been having ideas on a lot of things I would have loved to share with you but you know what they say about procrastination. Yea….got the best of this relationship!   I’m sorry.  Now, I hope to be more consistent – I know I have said that a mi...
