How it started:
“I started with Hair making in Jos, Nigeria shortly after my Secondary Education, though was born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria. Later, I started frying meat and selling to nearby shops and bars in Jos when I was yet to secure admission into the Tertiary Institution.
In 2006, during the National Census exercise, I volunteered my services and was paid a token from which I saved and started my business with in 2008 in the University of Lagos (then I was in my first year). I bought and re-sold female under wears to my friends and engaged in door – to – door marketing in the few hostels I could reach.
To cut the long story short, my Mom (God bless her a lot), saw how serious and dedicated I was to the business and knowing the fact that I had always loved the independent life style, she decided to grant me a loan with payment of interest inclusive. With the #60,000 (Sixty thousand naira) loan, I started travelling to neighboring countries like Ghana, Cotonou and Togo where I bought female accessories, sandals and other female items, to sell.
Now, I travel to London, Dubai and the US to buy and sell wears, shoes, bags, accessories and human hair extensions. I was still in school doing all of that and as well did well with my academics even though it was very challenging due to the rigid educational system we’ve got here, but I would usually schedule my travelling then or ask friends to help me buy when they travelled. I coped and I am happy.
My network coverage has gone beyond female hostels to Corporate and Private Organizations where I also do fashion (image) consultancy within and outside Lagos. I also talk at seminars and youth gatherings aside business and fashion.”
Passion:
“My passion is seeing young people like myself success driven (especially ladies) and skillful in whatever they do. I also love to educate and talk to as many young people who cares to listen, that they can be whatever they want to be, irrespective of the harsh economy, if they set their hearts at it. And also to let them know that it doesn’t matter how little what you have is, but the greater force and drive within, is what makes that little drop a mighty ocean!
