PEACE call ~ OBEY!

I was gazing at the group of young male and female dancers at the trunk of a slowly moving van that had banners, stickers which had images of old men and women on them; smiling or pretending to smile for the camera, through the window of the classroom I had sat in to study before the blast of siren and noise from speakers and whistles blared and got me standing.
Then, my phone beeped. It was a broadcast message on my black berry messenger. I took my eyes off the scene and read through what I refer to as a 'peace call' from a patriotic citizen and my good friend ofcourse!
I asked immediately if I could share it and he was more than excited to spread this call for peace to all Nigerians.

Voici!

'It's just a few hours to the commencement of 2015 general elections and from all political calculations the South West votes will be a major decider for the eventual winner. With so much focus on this region there is likely hood of violence with the desperation of politicians to hold on to and grab power. My message is for peace, elections will come and go and we will eventually move on but violence in whatever form doesn't spare anybody be you rich, poor, old or young. The ambition of any politician is not worth my blood or yours, I am therefore pleading for you to tell someone to tell someone to avoid and eschew violence in any form, it has not proven to be a good solver of problems. Spread the word of peace as you never know how far your little admonition or message can convince another man. Think of where you are coming from, think of how hard you strived to get and build whatever you have, think of your family, children and loved ones. Remember your action or in-action will surely have consequences tomorrow. Wishing Lagos,South West and the Whole Nigeria a Peaceful 2015 general elections. Please re-broadcast and spread the word of peace.'. ~ J

For My G.Ma - Felicia

I never knew I would miss her this much. People never understood why I love Christmas. I didn’t quite get it too – apart   from the bursting joy of the birth of Christ, the melodious songs and beautiful decorations; there was more to the super hyper and lovey-dovey feeling I always have this season. So, I was scrolling through my phone gallery and saw the last photo I had with my G.Ma. Oh by the way, Christmas was her birth and death day. I’m writing this because of her. Just to share a bit of her awesomeness with you. That woman was a bad-ass! Reminiscing on my childhood memories with her, I realized she was the reason I love Christmas. I usually spent my Christmas and New-Year holidays with her as a child. She would take me to her church and ask the priest to allow me join other children in the Christmas carol rehearsals and performances. She would take me to the salon and have my hair done and accessorized. I hated making my hair, it was just too stressf...

Killings in South Africa

I read and saw pathetic images of the killings of black foreigners by South Africans who are claiming or angry that these foreigners are taking up all available jobs and congesting available facilities and they also claim they are illegal immigrants. Read up the story captured by Al Jazeera below: 'Thousands of people have attended a march in South Africa's coastal city of Durban in solidarity with the country's foreign nationals.

Hello there!

Is it too late to say happy new year😥?! I mean, a quarter in the year 2021 is almost over, so I will let this mushy feeling slide, and let’s say I will pretend like I have been writing and written to you all these while.    Happy? Yes.    So, what have you been up to?  As for me, after the whole #EndSARS movement, I just literally had this block. In fact, I wrote a couple of things in my notebook but just couldn’t bring myself to sharing here.  I was beyond devastated, as many people – Nigerians were.    Anyways, before and since then, I was also doing a lot of thinking, studying, and preparing for a professional examination, which I wrote and passed in December, last year – yay!! Then, I have just been having ideas on a lot of things I would have loved to share with you but you know what they say about procrastination. Yea….got the best of this relationship!   I’m sorry.  Now, I hope to be more consistent – I know I have said that a mi...
